New ARD Series "Two Women for Every Tail 1+2" launches in “Endlich Freitag im Ersten”

“Endlich Freitag im Ersten” kicks off at the end of August with the brand-new series “Two Women For Every Tail 1+2”. The leading roles are played by Bettina Zimmermann and Meriel Hinsching. When an injured dog brings the two very different veterinarians together, they not only heal animals as a team but also fight against corporations and epidemics to save a veterinary practice and a farm from closure. Directed by Stefan Bühling from scripts by Anja Flade-Kruse, the production was handled by 307 PRODUCTION. The first two films of the ARD series will be broadcast on August 29 and September 5 at 8:15 p.m. on Das Erste. Starting August 27, they will also be available in advance in the ARD Mediathek.

Synopsis:

“A New Beginning” – August 29, 2025
On her way to her Naumburg practice, veterinarian Maja Freydank (Bettina Zimmermann) accidentally hits a dog with her car. This disrupts her scheduled meeting with Julia Kramer (Meriel Hinsching), whom the clinic group Sanaripets has proposed as a new colleague. Maja’s boss, Reiner Rückert, plans to retire and sell the practice to the corporation – but Maja has her doubts. When Maja and Julia tend to the injured dog together, they make a disturbing discovery. Their search for answers brings the two women closer together. While Maja decides to take over the practice herself, Julia faces a difficult choice: pursue a career with the corporation or start anew at Maja’s side?

“Fathers and Daughters” – September 5, 2025
At the dairy farm of Dirk Rothe (Peter Schneider), mother cow Lotte gives birth to her calf – only with Julia’s help can it be delivered without a C-section. Shortly afterward, one of the cattle dies, and suspicion of a rare cattle disease arises. For Dirk, who has been running the farm alone since separating from his wife Annette (Annett Sawallisch), an outbreak would mean the end. Together with Dirk’s daughter Lisa (Lilly Barshy), Maja and Julia do everything they can to stop the disease and secure Dirk’s future.
