About the book:
LOST IN FUSETA – A CRIME NOVEL FROM PORTUGAL: WHITE CARGO (Part 1)
In quick succession, a German dropout and a single teacher are murdered in Fuseta and Tavira. The investigative trio of Leander, Graciana and Carlos are faced with a mystery, as neither a motive nor a connection between the murders is apparent. Leander’s extraordinary powers of deduction eventually lead the team onto the trail of a planned drug shipment, where all the threads seem to converge. But something else hangs over the frantic investigations: Leander’s impending return to his old job in Hamburg, which forces both him and Graciana’s sister Soraia (Filipa Areosa) to face the crucial question of what they actually feel for one another… Leander doesn’t have much time to think about it, however, as events come thick and fast: a chain of fateful decisions puts not only him, Graciana and Carlos in mortal danger, but also the people who mean the most to them. For the ruthless drug smugglers are pursuing a perfidious and cunning plan.
LOST IN FUSETA – A CRIME DRAMA FROM PORTUGAL: WHITE CARGO (Part 2)
Three unsolved murders and a seriously injured witness who now fears for his life every second – the Polícia Judiciária in Fuseta is under pressure. Sub-Inspector Graciana Rosado makes serious accusations against her colleague Carlos Esteves: how could he – without consulting her – involve the inexperienced Toninho (André Leitão) in a risky undercover operation to intercept a drug shipment? Meanwhile, Europol Commissioner Leander Lost receives an unexpected visit from the gangster Montoya (Paulo Calatré): Zara (Bianca Nawrath) has been kidnapped. To save her, Leander is to hand over Zara’s boyfriend Toninho. If anyone were to find out about the kidnapping, it would mean the hostage’s death. However, as an autistic person, Leander cannot lie – and when Toninho asks him about Zara during a hospital visit, the investigator tells the truth. Leander now takes Graciana and Carlos into his confidence. But whilst Lost and his colleagues rely on a ruse, Toninho sets off unnoticed on a solo mission…
Alongside Jan Krauter, Eva Meckbach and Daniel Christensen, the cast includes Anton Weil, Bianca Nawrath, Konstantin Lindhorst and, among others, the Portuguese stars Filipa Areosa and André Leitão.
