307 production is developing a two-part drama for ARD, tackling a highly sensitive subject rarely addressed on television: custody disputes and the dramatic consequences of parental alienation.
At the heart of the project is the fictional two-parter Es geht um die Kinder (working title), developed by our producer Simone Höller in collaboration with writer Katrin Bühlig.
Synopsis: This 180-minute thriller-drama tells the story of a four-member family torn apart by separation – not based on a specific case, but inspired by real-life examples in which children are instrumentalized, parents are alienated, and entire families are shattered.
The focus is on the phenomenon known as parental alienation, in which one parent – consciously or unconsciously – manipulates the child to such an extent that, without any legitimate reason, the child increasingly rejects contact with the other, once-loved parent, and ultimately refuses all contact. This dynamic can manifest as fear, anger, panic, or even open hatred – with severe emotional consequences for everyone involved.
Writer Katrin Bühlig and producer Simone Höller are deeply familiar with this subject. In 2019, they were responsible for the multi-award-winning SWR drama Weil Du mir gehörst (Because You Belong to Me), which attracted national and international attention. With Es geht um die Kinder (working title), the creative team builds on this expertise – delivering a film that looks beneath the surface of family conflicts and focuses on the most vulnerable: the children.
