LOST IN FUSETA: Start of filming of the popular ARD Degeto Crime Series with „White Cargo“ (WT)

Last spring, the film adaptation of Gil Ribeiro’s second bestseller ‘Lost in Fuseta – Trail of Shadows’ thrilled almost six million viewers. Now fans of the popular crime series LOST IN FUSETA can look forward to a sequel: a gripping thriller is set in the original locations around Fuseta and Lisbon, in which the investigation into two mysterious murders leads the extraordinary trio of investigators Leander Lost (Jan Krauter), Graciana Rosado (Eva Meckbach) and Carlos Esteves (Daniel Christensen) deeper and deeper into the machinations of a drug cartel. A case that not only puts them in mortal danger – but also the people who mean the most to them…

The ARD Degeto two-parter is still being filmed in Portugal until 23 May. In addition to Jan Krauter, Eva Meckbach and Daniel Christensen, the cast includes Anton Weil (Miguel Duarte) and Bianca Nawrath (Zara Pinto) as well as Portuguese stars Filipa Areosa (Soraia Rosado) and André Leitão (Toninho), among others.

Two mysterious murders keep Leander (Jan Krauter), Graciana (Eva Meckbach) and Carlos (Daniel Christensen) busy: A German dropout and a single teacher are murdered in quick succession in Fuseta and Tavira. The trio of investigators are faced with a mystery, as neither a motive nor a connection between the murders is recognisable. In the end, it is their Spanish-born colleague Miguel Duarte (Anton Weil) who establishes a link to two unsolved murder cases in Spain on the basis of a bird feather at the crime scene and suspects a serial killer behind the murders.

Leander’s extraordinary powers of deduction eventually lead the team onto the trail of a planned drug delivery, where all the threads seem to converge. But there is something else hovering over the feverish investigation: Leander’s impending return to his old job in Hamburg, which confronts both him and Graciana’s sister Soraia (Filipa Areosa) with the crucial question of how they really feel about each other.

However, Leander Lost doesn’t have much time to think about it, because events come thick and fast: a chain of momentous decisions puts not only him, Graciana and Carlos, but also the family and friends of the police team in mortal danger. The unscrupulous drug smugglers are pursuing a perfidious and sophisticated plan.

Holger Karsten Schmidt is once again responsible for the scripts. The Grimme Award winner, who also wrote the novel under the pseudonym Gil Ribeiro, is publishing the 7th volume of his successful series in the spring. The film will once again be directed by Felix Herzogenrath, who has a wealth of experience in crime fiction. Niklas Wirth and Christoph Pellander (ARD Degeto Film) are the responsible commissioners.
