A few days ago, filming began on “Morden auf Öd – Ein Insel-Krimi (AT)” (Murders on Öd – An island thriller(WT)). 307production is producing two 90-minute films for the series “Tödlicher Dienst-Tag” (deadly Tuesday)on behalf of RTL until the end of October. On the tranquil island of Öd, where others go on holiday, all is still well with the world. But appearances are deceptive: in the middle of the idyllic wasteland, tough crimes are being solved by a young duo of investigators who couldn’t be more different.

The multi-award-winning director Richard Huber (“Club der roten Bänder”, various “Tatorte”, “Ein Fest fürs Leben”) directs both films. The screenplays were written by Grimme Award winner, bestselling author and creator of numerous successful crime series (“Lost in Fuseta”, “Die Toten von Marnow”, “Nord bei Nordwest”) Holger Karsten Schmidt.

The leading roles are played by Paula Kalenberg and Max Hubacher. Other roles are played by Detlev Buck, Steffen Münster, Lars Rudolph, Meral Perin, Kalle Perlmutter, Timo Jacobs, Franziska Hartmann, Sebastian Zimmler, Sophie Lutz and many more.

Episode 1: ‘Murders on Öd – Day of reckoning’

Only a few more days without a criminal offence on Öd, then the island policemen Rolf Benz (Detlev Buck), Jürgen Benz (Steffen Münster) and Klaus Hansen (Max Hubacher) can look forward to a big prize. But now, of all times, a corpse washes up in a boat! Without further ado, the three of them push the boat back out to sea. No body, no case. But they haven’t reckoned with Maja Stein (Paula Kalenberg), their new colleague from the mainland…

Episode 2: ‘Murders on Öd – The Visitation’

Maja is stunned: she is to take on a permanent position on Öd! Her frustration about this takes a back seat when a bomb explodes in the supermarket, mortally wounding the local undertaker. The first clues suggest that a self-proclaimed do-gooder wanted to harm a major food company. But Klaus and Maja soon suspect that this is just the start of a much more sinister plan…
