The first two episodes of the new series ‘Zwei Frauen für alle Felle (AT)’ for the programme ‘Endlich Freitag im Ersten’ for MDR and ARD Degeto were filmed in Naumburg and the surrounding area as well as in Leipzig in spring 2024. The main roles are played by Bettina Zimmermann as vet Maja Freydank and Meriel Hinsching as her colleague Julia Kramer. The screenplays for the first two films “Neuanfang (AT)” (A new beginning (WT)) and “Väter und Töchter (AT)” (Fathers and Daughters (WT)) were written by Anja Flade-Kruse (MISS MERKEL, PRAXIS MIT MEERBLICK). The film is directed by Stefan Bühling (SCHULE AM MEER, ‘In ewiger Freundschaft’, ‘Martha Lieberman – Ein gestohlenes Leben’, ‘Legal Affairs’).

A new beginning (WT)
On the way to her practice, a dog runs in front of the car of Naumburg vet Maja. She is late for her appointment with Julia Kramer, whom the clinic group Sanaripets sends her as a future colleague. Maja’s boss Reiner Rückert is going into well-deserved retirement and wants to sell his small practice to the group.
Maja and Julia take a practical approach to getting to know each other, examining the injured dog together and developing a personal relationship. When they discover evidence that the dog is being deliberately made ill, their suspicions initially fall on the dog owners’ son and a neighbour.
In order to save the dog’s life, the two vets have to solve the mystery of who is harming him. In a race against time, Maja and Julia grow into a strong team. Will Julia ultimately decide against Sanaripets and in favour of Maja’s practice…?

Fathers and daughters (WT)
Mother cow Lotte calves on the farm of dairy farmer Dirk Rothe (Peter Schneider). Julia barely manages to avert a caesarean section and give birth to a healthy calf. When one of Dirk’s cattle dies in the pasture shortly afterwards, Maja and Julia are alarmed: Is a rare cattle disease threatening the animals? Dirk, his daughter Lisa (Lilly Barshy), Maja and Julia must join forces to prevent other cattle from becoming infected.
Since Dirk was recently left by his wife Anette (Annett Sawallisch) and Lisa wants to study medicine, Dirk cannot continue to run the farm alone. Behind his family’s back, he has already started negotiations to sell the farm, which threaten to collapse when even more animals fall ill. Dirk’s livelihood is at stake. Will Maja and Julia be able to save the future of the family business as well as the animals…?
